The Founders of Stack Overflow and Trello have announced the beta version of HyperDev which promises of being the fastest way of developing web applications.
HyperDev is a collaborative tool which makes developers concentrate on writing codes for building full-stack web applications while the work of the platform is of automated deployment and immediate hosting. While coding the app you can deploy it on the live servers also.
“By making web development faster, easier and more accessible, developers can now create apps faster and try out more ideas,” said Joel Spolsky, a founder of Fog Creek. “Now, developers can finally get to working on all the projects they’ve been meaning to get around to.”
A key aim of the platform is to ensure developers' creativity is able to flourish, unshackled from the added complexity of configuring servers, running commands, compiling files, setting up build pipelines, and mastering version control systems.
“Sometimes you just need to get something up and running,” Spolsky adds. “HyperDev is a scratch pad for your code. Development is quick and users have their own permanent space on the web where their apps are already live and accessible via a URL. It’s like getting your own server and editing live, so you can find out straight away whether your thing works, or whether people will use it.”
Enabling simple collaboration with others in a 'Google Docs-style' environment helps to speed-up the web app development process further. Projects can be shared by exchanging code via URL and shared projects can also be ‘remixed’ so that developers can work from a copy of existing code and implement changes.
